Los problemas cardiovasculares son considerados la primera causa de muerte en México, pues más del 50% de los mexicanos ha fallecido por un problema cardiaco. Por ello la importancia de evitar malos hábitos en el trabajo que pueden dañar nuestro corazón.


Un poco del panorama actual


Las enfermedades cardiovasculares han ido en aumento entre la población mexicana y a nivel mundial, pues de acuerdo con cifras proporcionadas por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), son la principal causa de defunción en el mundo.

Se calcula que más de 17 millones de personas en el año 2012, fallecieron por una enfermedad cardiovascular, es decir por algún trastorno del corazón y en los vasos sanguíneos, cómo:

  • Hipertensión
  • Infarto de miocardio
  • Enfermedad cerebrovascular
  • Miocardiopatías, entre otras.

Los distintos cambios en nuestro estilo de vida, así como los malos hábitos en el trabajo y fuera del mismo, han provocado el aumento de estas enfermedades a una edad más temprana y afectando principalmente al género masculino.

Una forma de prevenirlos es poner atención en ciertas actividades cotidianas, ya que, al evitar los malos hábitos en el trabajo, y en general, se puede reducir la probabilidad de desarrollar un problema cardiovascular.


5 malos hábitos en el trabajo que afectan a tu corazón


  1. La inactividad física. El realizar incluso actividad física moderada ayuda a disminuir la presión arterial, controlar los niveles de colesterol y prevenir el desarrollo de sobrepeso u obesidad, además de fortalecer el músculo cardiaco y hacer más flexibles las arterias. Sin embargo, la inactividad física tiene un resultado totalmente opuesto.


  1. Sedentarismo. Las personas sedentarias tienen una menor probabilidad de vida en comparación con aquellas que queman entre 500 y 3,500 calorías por semana, ya que su corazón realiza un mayor esfuerzo al trabajar y esto aumenta la presión arterial.


  1. Mala alimentación. El consumo de comida chatarra o alimentos con un alto contenido en grasas saturadas, azúcar, sal y harina, incrementan el colesterol malo en la sangre, y si a eso añadimos el sedentarismo y la falta de actividad física, estos malos hábitos en el trabajo aumentan el riesgo a padecer un problema cardiovascular.


  1. El exceso de trabajo. El exceso de trabajo con frecuencia causa estrés el cual aumenta la frecuencia cardiaca y la presión arterial.


  1. Falta de sueño. Al dormir mal o no descansar un mínimo de 7 horas al día nuestro organismo sufre trastornos hormonales, las cuales afectan el sistema circulatorio.


Otros factores


Además de los malos hábitos en el trabajo u hogar, existen otros factores los cuales incrementan las posibilidades a desarrollar problemas cardiovasculares, por ejemplo: Tener diabetes, sobrepeso u obesidad, o factores genéticos cómo familiares directos con hipertensión.


Recuerda que, aunque nuestros hábitos los formamos de niños, siendo adultos tenemos las herramientas necesarias para cambiarlos ya sea para bien o para mal, todo depende de nosotros.
